Christmas Car Parking Myths

Sheffield Lib Dems mock shock at the Council's inability to support free city centre parking this Christmas is a few facts short of a story.

• Sheffield Lib Dems have forgotten that they set the Council’ budget this year and made no money available for free parking at Christmas
• Forgotten that it was they who increased parking charges in the city centre this year
• And it seems to have slipped their mind that in Broomhill and Ecclesall Road they introduced a 100% increase.
  

Add to that the fact that the Council's budget has been cut by £80 million by the Government and that there is already a £350,000 black hole in the Lib Dem parking budget they set before scarpering in May, and you might have a bit more like the full story.
