NHS Cuts - Sheffield Loses Out

 

The Tory-led Government is shifting more than £100 million in NHS money from Yorkshire to better-off areas

A previously unpublished report reveals the Tory-led Government is shifting NHS funding from Yorkshire to better-off areas.  The Tory-led Government is changing the way in which money is allocated to Primary Care Trusts so that it gives less weighting to health inequalities.

Top Ten Losers in Yorkshire:

Barnsley will lose £14.7 million - a 3.1% cut
Hull will lose £13.2 million - a 2.6% cut
Wakefield will lose £14.8 million - a 2.5% cut
Doncaster will lose £15.5 million - a 2.2% cut
Rotherham will lose £10.1 million - a 2.2% cut
Sheffield will lose £14.2 million - a 1.5% cut
Bradford & Airedale will lose £12.8 million - a 1.5% cut
Leeds will lose £10.8 million - a 0.9% cut
Kirklees will lose £5.4 million - 0.8% cut
Calderdale will lose £4.4 million - a 0.4% cut

Selected National Winners:

Surrey will gain £61.4 million – a 4.2% increase
Kensington & Chelsea will gain £11.2 million - a 3.9% increase
Hampshire will gain £52 million – a 2.9% increase
Oxfordshire will gain £22.1 million – a 2.6% increase
Hertfordshire will gain £39.7 million – a 2.5% increase
