Working hard for you
Sheffield’s Liberal Democrat Councillors have supported the Tory/Lib Dem Government’s decision to scrap EMA.
In a Council meeting today, the Lib Dems launched an astonishing attack on EMA, which is received by almost half of young people in Sheffield. The Lib Dems refused to acknowledge the benefit EMA has both in participation and attainment, despite the allowance being supported by teachers, parents, pupils and education experts.
“I can’t believe that the local Lib Dems are supporting the Government’s decision to scrap it, they should put the future of young people and their families in Sheffield first instead of defending the indefensible.” Cllr Jackie Drayton, Sheffield Labour Education Spokesperson.
